LEXINGTON — Kentucky basketball is headed back to the Bahamas in August for a four-game exhibition series against international competition to prepare for the 2022-23 season.
NCAA rules allow teams to make a preseason international trip every four years. The Wildcats previously traveled to the Bahamas in 2018 and 2014. Those games were hosted at the Atlantis Resort, but the 2022 games will be held at the Baha Mar Resort from Aug. 8-14.
Fans can make the trip to the Bahamas, too. Here is what you need to know about tickets, the games and resort accommodations:

What attractions are at the Baha Mar resort?
Baha Mar is a 2,300-room resort that includes a Grand Hyatt Hotel, an SLS Hotel and a Rosewood Hotel. The SLS and Rosewood are deluxe hotels. The resort also features a 100,000 square-foot casino, a new $250 million water park and the Jack Nicklaus-designed Royal Blue Golf Course. Fans can email [email protected] to book golf rounds. They should reference “UK tour” to receive the discounted rate of $250 per round.
How much do tickets to the UK basketball Bahamas games cost?
All games feature general admission seating at the Baha Mar Convention Center. Tickets cost $100 per game. Fans can purchase a $400 four-game ticket package. All tickets must be purchased through KentuckyBahamasTour.com. Fans do not have to purchase travel packages to buy tickets to the games.

How much do hotels at the Baha Mar resort cost?
King room rates at the Grand Hyatt Hotel start at $399 per night. Fans should use group code 175084 for official tour room rates. Fans interested in staying at the SLS or Rosewood can email [email protected] for special tour rates.
Are there packages that include tickets and hotels for the Kentucky Basketball Bahamas trip?
Yes. Packages including six-nights lodging at Grand Hyatt, airport transfers, reserved game tickets, tailgate party tickets and daily breakfast vouchers cost $6,200 for a single-occupancy room. A package for a double-occupancy room costs $7,800. Additional guests in double-occupancy room cost $1,200 per person. Packages can be booked at KentuckyBahamasTour.com/packages.
The packages do not include airfare, which must be booked separately.

Are there any any COVID-19 travel requirements for the trip?
All visitors to the Bahamas must produce a negative rapid antigen test (for vaccinated travelers) or negative RT-PCR test (for unvaccinated travelers or optional for vaccinated travelers) within three days prior to arrival to the country.
The Bahamas requires travelers to purchase the country’s Travel Health Visa ($40 for vaccinated travelers and $60 for unvaccinated) prior to entry. The visa serves as insurance to cover the traveler in case of a positive COVID-19 test once in the country. It provides courtesy accommodations and daily food vouchers while in quarantine or charter travel back to the United States. Information on Baha Mar’s pandemic precations can be found here.
