PBA community mourns passing of Alaska’s ‘Mang Tom’ Urbano

MANILA, Philippines—Tom Urbano, a former PBA referee and employees member of Alaska, has passed absent. He was 80.

“We pray currently for the repose of Mang Tom’s Soul. Could the Lord grant ease and comfort to these who grieve him,” the Alaska Aces posted on their social media accounts on Monday.

The PBA community mourned the passing of Urbano, who was a perfectly-beloved determine in the league.

“I want I was residence so I could pay my respects to my pal, Tom Urbano. He was this sort of a large portion of my early profession at Alaska. I was so sorry to listen to of his passing. I will pass up you, Tom. RIP,” explained Barangay Ginebra head coach Tim Cone.

Cone named the shots for Alaska from 1989 to 2011. He won 13 championships with Alaska which includes a Grand Slam in 1996.

“This is a genuine man of honor. I was blessed to have been a aspect of his existence. He was and is a particular individual. May he rest perfectly. RIP MANG TOM,” said previous PBA star Joe Devance, who gained a title with the Aces in 2010.

Former Alaska import Diamon Simpson, an integral portion of the Aces’ title run in 2010, also compensated a tribute to Urbano, whom he explained as “a legitimate legend.”
