Jamarion Sharp exits transfer portal, returns to Western Kentucky basketball

Western Kentucky basketball’s major get in the transfer portal might not be a new addition.

Jamarion Sharp, the 7-foot-5 Hilltoppers middle who led the country in blocked shots this past year, introduced by way of his Instagram account that he is returning to WKU for at least a 2nd season.

“Soon after talking to numerous universities and browsing a different college, I realized once again exactly where my heart genuinely was, here at WKU,” Sharp wrote. “I truly enjoy absolutely everyone who took the time out of their schedule to talk to me. Every thing that I require is right right here at Western Kentucky.”

Sharp, who transferred to Western Kentucky past year from John A. Logan College and averaged 8.2 factors, 7.6 rebounds and 4.6 blocked pictures for the Hilltoppers, capturing 72.6% from the floor. He set a WKU record with 148 blocks.

Missouri was thought of a potent candidate to land Sharp. Kyle Smithpeters, his coach at John A. Logan, joined Dennis Gates’ first Missouri team this offseason as an assistant.

WKU has extra two transfers this spring: Khristian Lander, a 6-foot-2 guard from Indiana, and Dontaie Allen, a 6-foot-6 wing who performed two seasons at Kentucky.
