Kevin Durant has not talked to any one from the Nets in months and is losing self-confidence in the team’s potential to tackle the deal standoff with Kyrie Irving, Logan Murdock of The Ringer mentioned on a modern podcast (hat idea to NetsDaily).
There has been developing speculation over the past week that Durant might pressure his way out if Brooklyn can’t re-indicator Irving. Murdock explained that decision is not inescapable, but warned that problems about the prospective “destruction” of the recent roster are legitimate.
“I really don’t know if he’s at the stage of leaving but there’s a large uneasiness from not only from the Kyrie side, but the KD aspect as effectively,” Murdock stated.
Brooklyn was lauded as the NBA’s future super team when Durant, Irving and DeAndre Jordan made a decision to indicator there as free of charge agents in 2019. James Harden was extra in a January 2021 deal to sort a Large A few, but items haven’t absent as planned. The Nets have captured just a single playoff series in that span, Harden is previously long gone and the other two stars appear to be in risk of leaving as well.
Murdock stated that when Durant chose Brooklyn, he experienced a vision of competing for titles although taking part in along with his buddies. Since that hasn’t transpired, Durant is starting to take into account his options, primarily if Irving does not return.
“His major beef is that he feels that the front workplace did not improve to comprehend Kyrie, whatever that indicates,” Murdock claimed. “I would drive again on that when a guy leaves for two weeks at a time … Kyrie earns the lion’s share of the blame. But I think KD thinks that ‘hey, you guys did not have an understanding of this man. You didn’t check out to determine out where by he was coming from.’”
Durant is also sad about the Nets’ envisioned parting with Adam Harrington as an assistant mentor and director of advancement. Harrington was Durant’s taking pictures coach with the Thunder and is a longtime pal.
Murdock adds that Durant selected not to be associated in the Nets’ no cost agent recruiting course of action this calendar year.
