Great First Date Ideas

The “dating scene” is a massive one, and today there are plenty of ways to find suitable dating partners. You can go to a singles bar, meet someone in a chat room, or utilize a dating website.

In fact, there are so many ways to meet people that that’s not even the main problem anymore. The big problem nowadays is agreeing on where to go during a date, or coming up with a dating experience that takes a dating relationship out of the drab routine into which it may have fallen.

The most common idea for a date is dinner and a movie. This is fine for a first date, but it gets routine after a while. Besides that, at a movie you spend your time in a darkened room with 100 other people not talking to each other.

So, here are a few ideas to take your dating out of that routine.

– A picnic. Why not put a spin on the traditional dating experience? All you need is a blanket, a sunny day and some good food and you’re ready to go. Sitting on the grass and cozying up with your significant other can be romantic! It’s easy to find new things to talk about with your date when you’re surrounded by a tranquil, serene setting. If you decide to go on a picnic for a first date, you will want to be responsible and choose a public place like a park rather than a secluded country setting.

– A Festival – This can cover the gamut from art, music, drama or a Renaissance fair. Such a venue will provide plenty to do and talk about. This could also be a good idea for a first date, as it could help you to get to know your dating partner more quickly and determine whether you have enough in common with each other for a second date.

– A theme park. Take your date to a theme park and revisit your childhood. Strolling down the midway, feeding each other cotton candy, getting close on some of the rides, putting a protective arm around your date in a scary haunted house — these can all be good ways of getting closer to your significant other and good excuses for a little snuggling.

– Bowling. Every town and city has a bowling alley. This can be a great venue for dating partners who may still be a little shy around each other and have difficulty making conversation. There is always plenty to talk about when bowling, and the physical activity helps work off those first date jitters.

Take a look around your own town or city for more ideas on how to break the dating routine and make all of your future dating experiences truly memorable.
